Speed Skating
The emphasis of this curriculum is to develop confident and competent skaters of all levels and ages. The six levels can be taught as a group or used as individual goals. From the first steps on the ice, skaters will progress at their own pace and advance once they have mastered each skill. These skills will build a foundation that will aid skaters throughout the rest of their skating careers.

If you love going fast, Learn to Skate USA®’s Speed Skating curriculum introduces you to the basics of speed skating, including starting positions, corner pushes and timed lap trials. Experience the thrill of speed and find the motivation to move through the levels.
The Speed Skating curriculum is recommended for skaters who have completed either Basic Skills or Adult classes. Skaters should have a strong foundation in the fundamentals before beginning. Upon completing the Speed Skating curriculum, budding racers can join a US Speedskating club and begin racing in sanctioned tournaments.
